App Design and Development
Mobile applications are Internet applications that are optimized for mobile devices. In 2013 the number of Android mobile apps on the Google Play store reached over 600,000. Android apps accounted for over 50% of application downloads between Android and iOS devices. While the Android app market is increasing, so is the need for those who develop them. Students will learn how to develop basic mobile applications on the Android platform. The first application will display a picture of the student’s favorite animal. The application will make a sound when the picture is clicked. The second application is a drawing platform that will allow students to draw on the phones screen using lines and dots of different colors.
